The planned three volumes in Lees’ edition 5 will provide an overview of current process safety knowledge and relevant methods.
The main topics of the three volumes are mentioned at the previous pages; however, aspects of a topic can be in different volumes or in a part of a volume. Hyperlinks in the three volumes will ascertain that the content relates to a topic comprehensively. For example, fire protection engineering will be in Volume 1, fire and explosion science and fire risk assessment will be in Volume 2, and the relevant case histories and regulations will be in Volume 3. Volume 1 will mainly focus on current applied practices in industry, Volume 2 will add a more scientific approach to the topic and address new developments.
The structural organization of the three volumes into Parts, Chapters, Sub-chapters, and Sections and Sub-sections will make it easier to find content related to a particular topic.
To get recognition of the work, all authors and reviewers of a contribution put their name and affiliation below the title of the contribution as in a journal paper. Editors will be named at the opening page of the part they are responsible for.
